It is clear that the Federal Government of Nigeria announced the closure of schools and some other sectors in the country due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic and as a way to prevent the deadly disease from spreading rampantly.
Surprisingly, some weeks ago, the Federal government considered the gradual easing of lockdown and approved the first and second phase of gradual easing of lockdown in which those sectors that was earlier shutdown were allowed to fully resume activities exempting schools only.
Earlier this week, the Minister of Education have a speech on safe reopening of schools with some preventive measures and guidelines for safe reopening.
Note, Following the recent update from the Federal government on school resumption, there's still no specific date officially announced for resumption of schools in Nigeria.
In my opinion, from Monday 3rd of August 2020, all the states that has less than 100 confirmed cases of coronavirus should be allowed to reopen schools so as to enable students continue with their studies.
The pictures below contains the States in Nigeria with less than 100 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Speaking of measures for reopening, it's obvious that students are tired of staying at home, so no matter how strict the guidelines for safe reopening might be, students will surely obey it because they wouldn't like to continue staying at home.
Moreover, if supermarkets, garages, mosques, churches, bars, airports and especially market are allowed to resume activities then schools should be allowed to resume aswell.
What's your opinion? Should the reopening be for those states or nationwide.
