As part of the ways to curb and maintain the spread of COVID-19 and to give Cross Riverians the opportunity to get access to food online, the Cross River State ministry of Commerce launched a new offering for flexibility dependable and fresh online food retail marketing at ease, "YOUR MARKET FRIEND" a COVID-19 induced intervention.

The public presentation/ flag off witnessed by the commissioners of Local Government Affairs, Stella Odey Ekpo, Commissioner for international donnor development corporation, Inyang Asibong, that of Establishment, Prof. Alice Ekwu, bank representative, Calcima, Market traders association, smeda, and the private sector was flagged off by the Executive chairman Bansa Rice Production co. Ltd High Chief Gabriel Umodern.
The aim of the intervention is to give residents in the state an opportunity to get food online at a cheaper rate. The food packages are well sealed, well stored and good for consumption.

The event was held at the ministry of commerce mini conference hall, Prof Eyo Ita house, in Calabar.
