IPhone theft: Man jailed for stealing ₦ 950,000 mobile phone.
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of robbery in Ogun state.
They allege that Ihetuge Ifeanyi stole a communication device worth N950,000.
The trial judge, O.L. He was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to the charges.
But the judge added that he could pay a fine of N150,000 instead of going to the King in trousers.
The man was arraigned before a judge on charges of robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The prosecuting officer, E.O. Adaraloye, said Ifeanyi and others who were involved in the crime at around 3pm in the Femi Oni area, Arinko Road, Otta, Ogun State.
Adaraloye said Ifeanyi and his 10 men broke into the home of a man named Olayinka Odunniyi, and stole an iPhone and other luxury devices.
He alleges that they acted in violation of the Ogun state's 2006 Criminal Act.
