Osun State on Child Abuse Matter, Begins Prosecution

What is wrong with humans? Why can’t we treat one another with respect and dignity? Nowadays, the rate at which child abuse is flying over the place is getting out of hand and thanks be to God that the various institutions connected to such case(s) are working effortlessly to ensure that offenders are prosecuted. Moments ago, it was the case of the 14years old house maid who got abused by her mistress in Kaduna State, now we have a similar case in Osun State.

A case of child abuse was reported to the Osun State Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs and Bukola Olaboopo, has disclosed plans by the government to arraign a policewoman, who has been maltreating her six-year-old stepdaughter. This report was made by some residents who could not stand or continue to witness such act. The commissioner narrated that when attention of the ministry was drawn to the abuse of the minor, a representative was sent to locate the house and rescue her. 

The maltreatment of the subject, however, was confirmed which is an action contrary to the provisions of the Child Rights Law of the state. Now, the accused will have to face the law and the commissioner warns sternly against such act or other related acts as offenders will definitely be dealt with.
