Officials who went into hiding after been granted bail over alleged N10billion fraud resurface.

Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria Chairman in Kano State, Abubakar Haruna, and the Deputy Secretary, Ado Yakasai, were accused last week of mismanagement of funds that were allocated to the 2018 Anchor Borrowers’ scheme handled by the state chapter of RIFAN. Complaints have been made concerning the funds ranging to about N10billion .

The two officials were arrested for questioning by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption commission after they rejected invitation.

The two Officials were later granted bail on the condition that the report back for questioning. To the surprise of the Anti-corruption commission, Both the chairman and secretary went into hiding and refuse to come for questioning after bail has been granted However both resurfaced on Thursday and reported back to the agency after the Kano Anti-corruption Commission have began the process to charge them to court.

The Chairman of the state Pubic Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, Muhuyu Rimingado, told The PUNCH in a telephone interview on Thursday that the RIFAN chairman, Abubakar Haruna and Deputy Secretary, Ado Yakasai, had since reported back to the commission.
