Man kills friend over N13m, steals over N2m from his bank account.

A Nigerian man identified as Moses is alleged to have killed his friend and colleague, Nwachukwu in Auchi, Edo State over 13m. Prior to the incident, the two were not just work buddies but close friends.

City Round reports that Moses knifed Nwachukwu after the latter showed him a credit alert of N13m his brother who based in South Africa sent him to build a house for him in their home town in Imo State. After Moses had killed Nwachukwu, he ran away with his phone and ATM card with the intent of stealing the money out of jealousy.

Frankudeze leant that Moses went to meet his friends who were into cyber crime to assist him withdraw N2.2m.

After some time, Nwachukwu's parents became worried and subsequently reported a case of missing person to the Police. The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed ordered an intelligence response team to investigate the event.

The team with the help of the bank investigated and discovered recent POS transactions made with Nwachukwu's ATM card in Benin City and finally arrested him where he was hiding at an hotel in Auchi, Edo State.

A police source revealed that Moses "confessed to the crime and led some police officers to the hideout of cyber fraudsters identified as Yusuf Sagiru, Tony Bright." The man that assisted Moses in withdrawing the money was not left out as he was arrested alongside other internet fraudster for being an accomplice.

When asked what his intent was, Moses revealed that he killed his friend and ran away with his belongings out of greed. He also said that he has not had rest of mind since he "killed Nwachukwu."

Narrating how it happened, David said it was when Nwachukwu told him about his elder brother who resides in South Africa and how he has been sending him money anytime he requested for it. This is not greed as Moses puts it but envy.

“He showed me an alert of N13m which his brother just sent to him and that he would be travelling to their village to carry out the building project his brother told him to do."

“On January 8, when we were both on duty, I lured him outside the company and stabbed him with a knife.” Moses revealed.

He explained that he spend part of the money lodging in hotels and spending quality time with women.

He added:

"Whenever I wanted to sleep, his spirit would appear to me and he would be crying. I regret my actions now.”
