Internet fraud overtime have become one of the problems in Nigeria. Also known as Yahoo Yahoo or as some will say it street work has become the only best way to making a living to some youths. The fact that parents also support their children is no longer news.
In a town called Uromi Edo State it is popular among them that it often the parents that put in the idea of Yahoo Yahoo into their children. I live there and you often hear this words like this " odion just travel to hustle my son you go and meet so he can teach as well to be rich".
A boy and his girlfriend were arrested along with a woman who is said to be the mother of the boy in question and this shows the level of Internet fraud as been encourage by some parents.
A student of the University of Port Harcourt studying Computer Science identified as Kenneth Gift has been arrested for alleged internet fraud. He was arrested together with his girlfriend Dandy Spice and a woman identified as Dorah Aninah.
The Benin zonal office in Edo state on Thursday July 16, 2020 confirm that Kenneth Gift, Dandy Spice and Dorah Aninah were arrested for suspected internet fraud.
The rate of Internet fraud is becoming rampant as youth believe it a quick way to riches. Some have drop out just to be able to attain success with online fraud.
Some items recovered from them includes a laptop and a mobile phone. The case will be charge to court once investigations have been completed.
