There has been several reports of exhumed dead bodies over the last few days, supposedly buried alive with their hands tied behind their back.
On the 14 of March 2020, three corpses of kidnapped victims have been exhumed from a forest in Bera Gokana local Government Area In Rivers state. Thanks to men of the Nigerian police force who apprehended the suspected killers. The name of the kidnapped victims are Baridomale Sunday Tor, Baridon Gbarabera and Barisiton Nawee, these people were said to be buried alive with their hands and mouth tied.
The suspected killers also confessed that, the reason they subjected their victims to such inhumane and gruesome killing was because, they reported oil theft and the perpetrators in their locality. As a result of this, the suspected killers were infuriated there by seeking a means to end their lives.
The two suspected killers of these victims, Prophet and Barididum Dabama a.k.a. ‘Kill and bury’, admitted the heinous crime at the scene of exhumation of the decomposing bodies.
Omoni said the command under Commissioner of Police (CP) Joseph Mukan is determined than ever to end all crimes in Rivers. So I believe this is a wake up call to the men of the Nigerian police force and the Anti cultism unit. There is one thing about crime and the perpetrators, if crime is left unchecked, it will become a tradition, both old and young will bear the carnage that will follow.
