A kidnapping gang has been arrested by the operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit in Rivers state police command. The gang collected one million naira from its Victim, Mr Ereba Dinabari's family and still hanged him on a tree till he died. The gang members are Osundu Uchendu, aged 25, and Amebulem Amos, aged 23. This is too barbaric and painful to imagin, what is the country turning into.
The Victim
Recently, the Nigerian Senate just move the 10 years sentence for kidnappers to life imprisonment to scare people from engaging in the act. This arrested gang of kidnappers in Rivers state could be the first suspects to be sentence to life imprisonment if the said law is to be implemented immediately.
Nigerians has been calling for death sentence for kidnappers, looters, money launderers, etc. What should be the appropriate punishment for this hineous crimes.
