Killing, to some people, is no longer a difficult or forbidden thing to do as a 27-year old Nigerian man, Friday Asuquo shot and almost killed his friend, Kingsley Araimo, over a thousand naira debt he owed him.
The incident took place on Friday, the 17th of July, 2020 in Enu- orji village, Anambra State. The police have arrested him. It was reported that Asuquo and his friend had a misunderstanding over the N1000 he owed him. After a little while, he dashed into a church and brought out a riffle. As his friend tried to run away, he shot him on the back.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the police in the state, Haruna Mohammed, said operatives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad arrested the suspect and rushed the victim to Amaku General Hospital Awka for medical treatment.
"The suspect had a misunderstanding with his friend, Kingsley Araino, who is 27-years-old of the same address over N1000 debt. Following an altercation, the suspect quickly rushed inside one City of Restoration Church in Amawbia and brought out a pump action gun loaded with four live cartridges and allegedly shot the victim on his back." He said
The police spokeperson declared that the pump action used in carrying out the crime had been recovered and shall be used as exhibit.
The PPRO said the confession made by the suspect was voluntary and investigation is still ongoing.
Kingsley is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital where he was rushed. His family hope that he gets well and Justice is served without prejudice, in the matter.
