
On Wednesday the Edo State Police Commissioner, Dr Johnson Kokumo, paraded the six suspects, who reportedly raped and murdered Uwaila Vera Omozuwa, a Benin University 100-level microbiology student in the church at Ihovbe neighborhood.
Nelson Ogbebor, Tina Samuel, Mary Ade, Collins Ulegbe and Nosa Osabohien were suspected.
Remember that Uwaila went to the church to read that she was raped and severely wounded by suspects, leading ultimately to her death.
The Commissioner of Police said, The matter concerns Muhammed Adamu, the General Inspector of Police, who has sent murderers experts to work with our police in Benin.
Today we have seen the police trying to get at the root of the crime and today I announce the arrest of the perpetrators.
Kokumo told the post-mortem that the deceased has been raped.
He said earlier he had told the state people that the police would do everything they can to expose them behind her death, adding that the suspected parade had kept their promise.
