Pirates attack vessel off Nigeria, kidnap six Ukrainian sailors 

Early today Pirates attacked a Curacao Trader vessel in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of Nigeria.

According to report 19 crew members were onboard the vessel sailing off the coast of Nigeria.

Also there is a report that the Pirates kidnapped 13 crew members, including six Ukrainian nationals.

This was made known by Maksym Kovalenko who is the Head of the Crisis Management Center under the Department of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

According to Maksym Kovalenko, among the 13 individuals and crew members kidnapped by the sea pirates, 6 are Ukrainian citizens while 7 are Russia citizens.

Kovalenko also said, the owner of the ship will hire special body that will go into negotiations with the pirates in order to be able to release the kidnapped crews.

He also added that the Russia and Ukrainian Embassies have contacted the ship owner  over the incident.
