Two men identified as Kayode Atanda and Adeyemi Ajayi were shot last week Thursday 9th July, 2020, by a police patrol team at Iwo Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, leading to Adeyemi's death.
According to Kayode’s wife, Tosin, who spoke with PUNCH correspondent, the Oyo State Deputy Commissioner of Police and other top policemen visited the home of the deceased.
She said that the police were pleaded with the family, saying that the shooting was accidental, and then the family insisted that they wanted to see the policeman that shot Yemi Ajayi dead.
Tosin said that some family members were taken to the cell where the men were locked up, and when the family members asked the policemen why they shot at the car in broad daylight, they cried saying that it was the devil.
According to Tosin, the policemen who were not on their uniforms, shot at her husband and Adeyemi while they were in a traffic jam for no reason.
