The Special Offences Section of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has granted the social media influencer, Adedamola Adewale also known as Adeherself bail in the sum of N500, 000.
In her ruling, Justice Sherifat Solebo also ordered the defendant to provide two sureties with reliable means of income which would be verified by the court.
Justice Solede subsequently adjourned the case until August 5 for substantive hearing.
Adedamola Adewale, had been in the in EFCC custody since July 7 following her arraignment, defendant is facing a charge of possession of fraudulent document.
According to presecuting counsel, Mr Samuel Daji, the defendant was arrested following intelligence received by the EFCC on the activities of some persons allegedly involved in internet fraud in the Lekki/Ajah axis of Lagos State.
It would be recalled that Adeherself and four others were arrested on 15 June, the commission said during interrogation, Adewale (Adeherself) confessed to being a ‘picker’ in cyber fraud.
The commission said Adeherself had in her possession a fraudulent document which was entitled ‘WhatsApp”.
The anti-graft body further said the social media influencer usually poses as a lady to hoodwink her foreign 'clients'.
