These three young lads may look so innocent, if judging by appearance is the main parameter.
But, they are suspected highway armed robbers who were caught in the thick of operation at the popular Alapako Junction in Owode Egba, Ogun State, along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
The suspects: Uzefa Idris, Adamu Yakubu and Ayuba Buhari were said to have robbed a particular traveller on that road of a sum of N545,000 while armed with dangerous weapons.
Luck ran against the suspects when a distress call was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Owode Egba Division, SP Mathew Ediae that a Mazda bus has been forcefully stopped on the highway by a gang of armed robbers and the occupants are being dispossessed of their belongings
The Police squad reportedly swung into action intercepted the operation and arrested the three suspects
It was learnt that the suspects had earlier taken to their heels on sighting the Policemen., on sighting the policemen but were chased into the bush where three amongst them were apprehended.
The two victims of their operation, Oluwakemi Oyegade, who was dispossessed of #545,000 (five hundred and forty-five thousand) and one itel phone as well as the driver Zacheaus Olaniyi were rescued to the station.

The two victims narrated that the hoodlums had jumped on the road from the bush and forcefully stopped the vehicle consequent upon which they started beating them with matchet before dispossessing them of their valuables.
Recovered from the arrested ones are: the sum ofN99,700 (ninety nine thousand seven hundred naira) and one itel phone.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti robbery squads SARS for discreet investigation and prosecution.
