According to reports coming in, some unknown persons kidnapped Juwairiyya Musa Kore, the 17-year-old daughter of Kano State lawmaker, on Sunday morning.
While addressing newsmen, Musa Kore said the sad incident took place around 2am at the his home in Kore village, Danbatta Local Government Area of the Kano State.
Juwairiyya is said to be an SS 2 student of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Jogana.
However, Murtala Musa Kore revealed that the kidnappers wanted to kidnap him but took his daughter instead due to his absence.
The lawmaker said; “I was in Kano when I received a call from home by 2:30a.m. I learned that kidnappers have abducted my daughter, Juwairiyya.
“The abductors invaded my house and tied up my elder brother, Lawal Kore, whom they had mistaken for me.”
Murtala Musa Kore disclosed that when his brother told them he wasn’t at home, they went inside the family’s quarters to verify his claim.
He further said his wives and children were told by the kidnappers, that they came to kidnap the lawmaker and were not ready to leave empty-handed.
“They, therefore, kidnapped my daughter instead of me,” the lawmaker said.
He, however, said the kidnappers had yet to contact him.
