For most people, when the name of Katsina State is mentioned in the news what comes to their mind is the banditry that's currently ravaging the state. But a strange thing that we have not heard for a long time occured in the state because it has been long that we hear the word "bomblast" in the news.
The bomblast took place in Malumfashi Local Government Area of the the state around 11:00am. Eyewitnesses stated that no fewer than six children lost their lives as a result of the bomblast and six others were injured and they are taken to the General Hospital Malumfashi where they are receiving treatment. There is no official statement on what cause the bomblast and why all the victims are children only.
A statement by the command Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, said that six children that were injured in the blast are the sons of one Alhaji Adamu of Yammama village, Mumfashi Local Govt. Although the possible cause of the blast are not yet determined, the bomblast may likely be connected to the bandits activities that are currently affecting the state.
