One suspect, whose names were given as Jubril Anifowose was on Friday 17th July 2020 arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on charges bordering on "abducting his neighbor’s wife and children".
Jubril was said to have abducted one Kemi, wife to one Dotun Elufidipe, and two of her children.
The prosecutor, Abdullahi Emmanuel, said Anifowose sometime in 2016 at No. 15 Enuwa Street, Ile-Ife, abducted Kemi and her two children.
The prosecutor detailed that the defendant knew that Kemi was wife to his neighbou, Dotun Elufidipe, but went further to act the way he did.
The prosecutor also claimed jubril acted in a manner likely to breach public peace and order. The offence, according to the prosecutor contravened Section 249(d) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
when all the charges were read out for the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
His defense counsel, Mrs F. O. Lawal, filed an application for bail with an assurance that the suspect would provide reliable sureties if need be.
The presiding Magistrate, A. A. Adebayo, in his verdict, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till 30th July, 2020, for further arraignment.
