In her words " They (policemen) started trying to break the security door. Because it is a security door, they spent a lot of time break it" Continuing she said, "so my governor came and send them out; and said why would they come to arrest a woman like a rubber. My governor told them that they should leave the compound. I am safely here in with my governor in government house Port Harcourt".

Ms Nunieh, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission has been on loggerheads with the Minister of the Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio over the running of the commission .

Akpabio was alleged by Ms Nunieh of misappropriation in the ministry among other things. It was as a result of this that she was supposed to appear before a representative committee of the National Assembly investigating the affairs of the NDDC. She was preparing to catch a flight to Abuja for that purpose when men of the Nigeria Police laid siege to her house in an attempt to arrest her. It could not t be ascertained if this was to prevent her from submitting her facts to the committee.
