Sodipo who revealed that he got N500 each time he killed, was sent by a herbalist, Adedokun Ajani to commit the murders. The commissioner of police, Nwachukwu Enwonwu, paraded the suspects and one Shehu, 20 years old, who bought a phone from Sodipo that was stolen from one of his victims.
On interrogation, Sodipo narrated how he killed Barrakat Bello, 18, on June 1 2020, smashed the head of Mrs. Azeezat Somuyiwa with a mighty stone on June 5 and stole his phone. He went further to say that he also killed one 21-year old Grace Oshiagwu on Saturday June 13, 2020, a 5 year old boy, mujib Tirimisiyu on June 22, 2020. His last operation according to him, was carried out on June 29, 2020 when he brutally attacked a woman at the age of 45, Adeola Azeezat and her daughter, with a hand shovel.
Sodipo explained that whenever he wanted to go for any operation, the herbalist would ask him to kneel in front of him and he(Ajani) would do some incantations and then, put something in his tongue three times and ask him to go.
Sunday Sodipo announced that for each time he killed, Adedokun Ajani the herbalist, would give him the sum of N500 and buy him food to eat. He said he didn't know why he killed as whenever the herbalist asked him to kill, he did so with ease.
