The daughter of Murtala Kore, member representing Danbatta Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, has been kidnapped.
Ms Juwairiyya was abducted in the early hours of Sunday, July 19 in place of her father, Sahara Reporters reports.
The lawmaker told the news outlet that the abductors actually came to kidnap him but took away his daughter – an SS 2 student of Government Girls Secondary School, Jogana – when they didn’t find him.
The State police is yet to confirm the incident.

According to the lawmaker: “I was in Kano town when I received a call from my village at about 2:30am or thereabout. I learnt that kidnappers had abducted my daughter, Juwairiyya.
"The abductors attacked my home and tied up my senior brother, Lawal Kore whom they had confused to be me.
"In any case, when he disclosed to them that I wasn't at home, they went inside my family's quarters to confirm his statement.
"They told my wives and kids that they were there to capture me and were not prepared to leave with nothing.
"They grabbed my little girl rather than me."
