Aboh Ogbeche, a young and promising 32-year-old man cuts short his own life on Friday, by committing suicide. The action took place at his family residence in Lawanson, Surulere area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
To further complicate the situation, Aboh was said to have committed the dastardly act in front of his mother. According to reports, “Aboh poured the liquid in a cup, sat before his mother, gulped the substance right as she was looking at him trying to stir up a conversation.”
It was reported by a close friend of the deceased that immediately Aboh consumed the substance, he slumped and began to convulse.
The mother, who was beyond shocked by the incident, raised the alarm and the neighbors gathered and he was immediately rushed to the Aishat Hospital in Idi Araba, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been deposited in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba mortuary.
Many of the deceased friends and family have been in a state of worry and confusion since the incident happened as to why Aboh, a very jovial person and an easy going person could result in taking his own life. Nobody knew he could think of taking his life, right in front of his mother too.
A friend to the deceased, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said this concerning the reason the young promising man could have committed suicide in such a manner; “I noticed some changes in Aboh recently but I couldn’t figure what was wrong. Maybe his mom objected to the woman he was dating or because things have not been moving fine for most people since this COVID-19 pandemic because he was a very jovial person and nobody knew he could think of taking his own life.”
The incident happened around 3.30 pm. Aboh was from Cross River State and about 32 years old. He slumped and died in the presence of his mum around 3.30 pm on Friday after drinking a popular brand of bleach.
Some of his closest friend took to his timeline on facebook to pen down their tributes...
The mother has been inconsolable since the terrible act took place right before her very eyes. We pray God her the strength to pull through in this very difficult time for her.
