The rate at which crime and societal violation are evolving is really overwhelming. This was prompted by the story of Chukwuebuka Kasi Obiaku, a 34 year old man, who lured a 64 year old American woman whose identity is yet to be revealed, down to Nigeria for Love.
The woman who claimed to have met Obiaku via Facebook has gone through a lot of mess so far. She claimed that he approached her under the pretext of "Love and " Marriage" and she got interested in him.
According to her, she travelled down to Nigeria in February 2019, marriage Obiaku three months later, after which the relationship hit the rocks and the man went on to hold her captive in a hotel for about a year.
Further investigations revealed that he also used her as a bait to commit so many criminal activities, ranging from forcing her to use her American accent to request for money from associates and organizations, making them believe she was doing it of her own accord.
He also used her credit cards to obtain five months worth of her retirement payments, about $48,000 and many more. The American has eventually been freed, and Obiaku has been apprehended, but not charged.
I personally anticipate that justice takes the wheel.
NB: Be cautious of people you meet on social media.
