Tears and agony as two newly recruited police constables drown in a river because of weed as it is fondly called.
The ugly incident happened around 7pm on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Awerintu river in Oke Eletu, Oyo state,
It's gathered that officers lost their lives while chasing the hoodlums who ran towards a bridge washed away by flood.
According to reports, one of the hoodlums jumped into the water and the policemen jumped in as well to catch him, but were swallowed by the mud.
Their bodies were later recovered around 9:20pm that same day.
This is really painful and I pray God gives the affected families the fortitude to bear this loss.
But on the contrary, the job of NDLEA is to arrest weed smokers not police officers and secondly how can one jump into a river when you don't have knowledge of swimming.
What do you guys think about this?
