Mixed reactions as 22-year-old boy, his mother and his girlfriend were arrested over suspected internet fraud (Yahoo Yahoo).
They were arrested by operatives of the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office on Thursday, July 16, 2020.
The 22-year-old boy, is a Computer Science undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt and his name is Kenneth Gift.
According to a statement made Thursday, by Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, their arrest was sequel to a petition from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.
Following intelligence by operatives of the Crime Commission, they were nabbed.
The items recovered from them at the point of arrest are; a Mercedes-Benz CA250, Mercedes-Benz C250, Mercedes Benz GLK 350, 5-bedroom duplex, laptop computers and mobile phones.
Dele Oyewale also added that the suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are complete.
