Two murder victims in Rivers not our students – UNIPORT

On Saturday, the University of Port Harcourt denied knowledge of two of the three persons killed by alleged cultists in a forest in Rivers State's Eleme Local Government District. UNIPORT spokesman Dr. William Wodi, who gave PUNCH this hint, maintained that the institution's only student was Joy Adoki. Recall that three persons claimed to be UNIPORT students were killed and buried by their assailants in Eteo Forest, the state's Eleme LGA.

The State Police Command had exhumed the decomposing bodies of Nelson Nwafor 'm,' Fortune Obemba 'm, and Joy Adoki 'f,' identifying them as UNIPORT undergraduates who were abducted on 7/4/2020 at Choba "On 30/4/2020, during the investigation, one of the kidnappers was arrested and, on questioning, made valuable admissions that led to the arrest of two others. One of the suspects called Friday Akpan, 'm,' took the operatives to a forest at Eteo in Eleme LGA where they retrieved the victims' bodies.

But spokesperson for UNIPORT said the institution's two male victims were not undergraduates. "Then the girl (Joy Favour Adoki) is a UNIPORT student and the other two are not. The girl is from Faculty of Science in Management. At Alakahia she resides off-campus, "Wodi said. He also said that after the closing of the university since March, the girl was supposed to be with her mother.
