In a world where many youths and adults are hustling and struggling to succeed and make ends meet in order to put food on their table for themselves and their families, some are still of the mindset of belonging to cult groups in order to be feared and respected by their peers by endangering their lives and the lives of their of their loved ones.
In the early hours of Thursday July 16,a 19- year old and a member of a female cult group known as the “Marine Girls” was reported to have been arrested and paraded alongside15 armed robbery suspects, six cultists and four murder suspects at Edo state police command headquarters in Benin city.
The female cultist confessed and recounted how she slept with 10 men before getting initiated into the cult group and the act was amongst the initiation rite.
The Question now is, is there any benefit of cultism that most youths are so gullible and foolish to risk their lives just to belong?
