Of recent, Nigeria has been witnessing unusual rises in molestation cases across the country.
A 15 years old girl was allegedly rapped by four men, they did not stop at that, they even went as far as attempted to rape the girl mother. They were arraigned before magistrate court in Akure, Ondo State, on Thursday.
The four suspects committed this ugly crime at Ikare Akoko area of the state.
Oniyere Taiwo, who is the prosecutor, he was surprise at the mother of the girl that was rapped, when the mother was pleading on behalf of the suspects, she was saying two of the suspects know nothing about the offense.
The lawyer of the four suspects, J.O Adewale, pray to the court to grant his clients on bail.
The accused persons, who are facing two-count charge of conspiracy and rape, pleaded not guilty after the charge sheet was read to them.
The offence is contrary to and punishable under section 218 of the Criminal Code, Cap 7 Vol.1 Law of Ondo State of Nigeria.
Mrs Adepoju, who is the Magistrate, gave order of the four suspects to be remanded in police custody pending the time the final judgment will be given.
She said, their case file should be forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecution for adjoining of the case to the next sitting, which will be august 5, 2020.
