There was a tragic incident reported at the Aguata Divisional Police Station, Anambra State by Bernard Aguata Ezeuboaja from Umuchiana village in Ekwuloba in Anambra State, he said his wife, Obiageli Ezeuboaja (65), and a houseboy (12) never woke up from sleep since the previous night, only for him to force the door open to discover their lifeless bodies.
Immediately the report had been made, Police detectives attached to Aguata Police Division swung into action, as they arrived at the scene, and rushed the victims to the hospital only to be certified dead upon arrival by a medical personnel.
Initial investigation suggested that because of the cold weather, the deceased woman, in an effort to make her room warmer, setup a charcoal fire as she closed all windows to prevent ventilation from coming in.
Though, the corpses have been dumped in the morgue at Ekwulobia hospital for an autopsy to determine what truly killed them, but the container with charcoal has been picked as an exhibit at the scene of the tragic incident.
The Anambra Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed while speaking, he said the sad incident was promptly reported to the police, but it was so unfortunate that the victims could not make it back to life, but an autopsy was needed to unravel what really killed them.
