The lady identified as Sherifat Suleiman was preparing for her West African Senior school certificate examination while residing in a "room and parlour" apartment (as they're popularly called) located in Yewa, Isawo in Ikorodu.
She however didn't always live with her step brother, she moved in with her Step-brother after her mother passed on.
Their neighbours however claim that the two were usually at loggerheads which may have prompted her decision. They allege that the victim had to endure various forms of assault from her Step-brother
Trouble started when Sherifat allegedly bought a poisonous substance which she ingested. A little girl was said to have noticed she was in pain and raised the alarm which gained the attention of the neighbours who rushed to the scene.
On getting there to where Sherifat was, neighbours claim they found Sherifat on the floor with whitish substance emitting from her mouth. They also claimed they saw bruises on her leg and her laps.
The said step-brother it was disclosed, has taken her body home for burial arrangements.
An anonymous Senior officer in the Lagos State chapter of the The Nigerian Police force however disclosed that investigations are ongoing concerning the incident.
