Guns Recovered From 5 Police Officers Killed In Delta

Guns and ammunition taken from five police officers who were killed while on illegal duty in Delta State have been recovered, police sources have confirmed.

The slain policemen who were dressed in mufti, were from the Bayelsa State police command and had travelled to Ughelli, Delta for an illegal activity.

They were greeted on June 13 by agents of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ughelli North, prompting their demise, The Vanguard reports. 

All Commissioner of Police and Divisional Police Officers have been charged to reliably screen their officials to check against police work force on illicit obligations, as indicated by a notice. 

The report – from the Assistant Inspector General of Police responsible for Zone 5 – gave details of the occurrence prompting the demise of the cops. 

It included that five police officers were slaughtered during the episode while four AK-47 rifles were recuperated.

In the main while , the family of the driver who was slaughtered with the officers has kept on pleading to the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, to examine the conditions that prompted the execution of their child. 

The driver, Efe Radio, had transported the police officers from Yenegoa, Bayelsa State to Ughelli in his Toyota outing vehicle with plate number: MUS 761 AT.
