Lagos Lockdown: 60 persons arrested at a Birthday Celebration

A total of 60 violators of the current lockdown policy have been arrested by the Lagos state Task force on COVID-19. The task force sprang into action after they had been informed by reliable source that the violators were attending a birthday party at 84 Parks and Garden, situated at Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.

LASEPA, General Manager, Dolapo Fasawe noted that the violators were arrested and handed over to the police to face consequences of their actions. On arrival at the event, the task force discovered that some of the suspects were partying without observing social distancing and lockdown measures. They were then arrested and after investigating, it was discovered that the suspects were within the ages of 16-45 years. They confessed to have broken lockdown protocol so as to attend the party.

The taskforce did not spare the rod, as the hotel manager was also arrested and the hotel shut down. Currently, investigations are going on and the suspects have been detained.

The Director General of Lagos Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola spoke on the issue describing the attitude to the violators as total insubordination to rules and regulation, and warned that any one found violating lockdown instructions will be arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
