The policeman who is attached to BDPA police station was struggling with a bus driver for the control of the steering wheel when he rammed into the two boys hawking by the roadside.
According to reports, the police officer refused to let go of the steering wheel because he wanted to collect a bribe of N100.
This incident which took place yesterday evening has brought tension in Ugbowo as the two boys were left in a critical condition after the accident.
The hawkers who were unconscious at the time of the accident were rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors are currently battling to save their lives.
The police officer has been apprehended.
