After waking up to the smell of parafin, Karabo Mnisi's 35 years old boyfriend Nonyane kholotelo set her ablaze and locked her in a room. He proceeded to listen to her cry and scream in pain and only let her out when she begged him for mercy. The room which is Located In Witbank , Mpumalanga South Africa belongs to Nonyane. The 19 years old girl has suffered burns which has left her practically unrecognizable.
She told SABC News last month that Nonyane had to die because if he got arrested he would come back and finish her off. Karabo Mnisi disclosed that they had an argument in December and Nonyane set her up.
Nonyane has been on the run since the attack although he continued to call the victim and threaten her. Police spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi says nearby residents heard her screams and called for help when they saw her burns.
Nonyane was arrested in Shatale close to Bushbuckridge about 6 months after the attack and has been charged with attempted murder.
