Man Sentenced to 2 Years Imprisonment for Stealing Carrots Worth #65,000

A 25 years years old trader, Abba Arando, have been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by an Upper Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Jos of Plateau state.

Arando was convicted for stealing carrots worth #65,000 was convicted on Thursday.

He was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to trespass, theft and mischief, NAN reported.

Lawal Suleiman, the Judge, sentenced him to two years imprisonment with an option of #20,000 fine.

While handing down judgment, the judge also adviced him to be of good behaviour and change his ways seeing that crime does not pay.

Ahamad Mohammed, the complaint, earlier reported Arando to Laranto police station for harvesting #65,000 worth of carrots from his farm without his permission.

This subsequently led to his arrest, prosecution and conviction having contravened the provisions of the Penal Code Law.

This is to serve as a deterent to aspiring criminals because justice is administered to all crimes whether it is big or small in your eyes.
