Bail Is Free, Go Home - Police Free Suspects Amidst Coronavirus Fears

The Lagos State commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has ordered all minor offenders or suspects detained in police stations all over the state to be released with immediate effect due to increased confirmed cases of Corona virus in the state. 

CP Hakeem through the Police Public Relations Officer in the state Bala Elkana, gave the directive to all Divisional Police Officers (DPO) saying the order was in line with the Federal government's precautionary steps to curb the spread of the deadly virus. 

Lagos recently recorded 3 news cases which made the state government led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu to review its previous ban on gatherings above 50 persons.

The new order now ban all social and religious gathering of over 20 persons. This order affects night clubs, bars, wedding ceremonies, religious gatherings in the state. 

Odumosu made it known that adequate resources have been deployed to ensure compliance with the orders. He however urged the general public to obey safety regulations and avoid overcrowding.
