A National Youth serving Corps member Agnes Okoroji who is serving at the Federal Girls College in Sagamu Ogun state, and Tawa Sosanwo were rescued on Wednesday by the Ogun state Police.
According to Report, one of the kidnappers was shot dead while Others escaped through the bush.The incident occurred on the Sagamu ijebu Ode road.
In a statement by the Ogun state Police PRO Abimbola Oyeyemi, Stated that both victims were Abducted by the kidnappers at different locations and were being transported to an unknown location before they were intercepted by the police force on the road.
He further stated that during the cause of interception, a gun duel was carried out.
He added that the incident occurred as the police noticed unusual activity in a Toyata sienna and ordered them to park for inspection but the driver drove off and was chased by the police. The kidnappers opened fire and so did the police after few minutes, the kidnappers stopped the car and ran into the bush but in the process one of them got shot dead and the others gun wounded..
The car was searched and the police found items such as a black toy gun, A Samsung galaxy S7 , one cutlass, a black wrist watch and a Gold one.
The police is pleading with the public especially the hospitals and health centers if any one was/ is seen with gun wounds they should contact the Police
