Yesterday was indeed a super raid by internet Bitcoin scammers as the accounts of prominent individuals on Twitter were hacked and used to promote a Bitcoin fraud which have robbed people of their hard earned money.
The account of former President Barack Obama, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos and Mike Bloomberg, reportedly shared the same tweets which was requesting donations via Bitcoin to their verified profiles on Wednesday 16th of July 2020.
"Everyone is asking me to give back, and now is the time," Gates' tweet said, promising to double all payments to a Bitcoin address for the next 30 minutes."
I am only trying to imagine how much the scammers were able to generate, because it's obvious that people will definitely engage in this donation innocent because it's coming from a verified Twitter account.
Nigerians have however reacted, thanking God that Hushpuppi have been in police net ,may be he would have accused of perpetrating the hack.
Some even said maybe it's the graduating students of Hushpuppi that are behind the hacking to Protest the arrest of their boss Hushpuppi
Below are screenshots of people's reaction
