This has cause stirs on twitter and got many people reacting
Below are some of people's reactions
He’s hungry ni nah. I ain’t condoling stealing but what kind of advice would you give a man who is hungry and when it’s leaders are busy embezzling money that’s meant for job creation and infrastructure. Na unnecessary thing like this naija judge dey show Rambo to awon werey.
The Magistrate did what any good Magistrate should do. She sentenced him to 1 month in a correctional facility, with an option of fine of 1k! So, he pays the fine and returns the plantain and he's free to go.
I do not support stealing. But come on... give that man some food.
Magu the EFCC ex chairman is walking scot free even when he stole billions from our Govt.
Listen, All this injustices to the ordinary and poor Nigerians must stop.
And how many of those criminal you called politicians have you jail???
So sad! People are rewarding themselves for COVID with billions but we can comfortably send someone to jail for plantain?! Are we citizens foolish? Do we really think that the laws apply equally? We must ask ourselves these pertinent questions.
We have a Lopsided justice system in this country, someone steals billions from the citizens and walking free on the streets while another four pieces of plantain fa and is JAILED! God when?
He should’ve stolen the whole plantation... the penalty would be lesser and might even get a presidential pardon and amnesty program for him and his goons... that’s the Nigeria we live in...
This country no balance at all.
Someone fainted on national TV after billions went missing, nobody talked about jail.
Ordinary plantain, why not ask him to do community service.
Infact I don switch off my mic.
Person steal 81bn Una no Jail am Na ordinary plantain of 200 naira Una dey jail person !! Judges for Nigeria self are corrupted !! Police are senseless plus corruption no body is even good in Nigeria
There seems to be a threshold of stealing that grants people invincibility in Nigeria.
Plantain certainly does not guarantee that.😢😢💔💔
And he couldn't faint
This is stupid!! I’m not justifying stealing in this Pandemic period, but if this is how justice has been taken a good cause the people stealing billions of naria ought to have been in jail? The country supposed not to have been filled up with robberies. Who is this Magistrate?
And our politicians get a tap on the back after stealing billions..
Nigeria can never be good!
Don't come at me, the block button still works.
It's my opinion
Did you think the magistrate is fair enough or she shouldn't imprisoned him.
