An Akwa Ibom man have been arrested on Saturday morning after a failed attempt to kill his best friend over N1000 loan yesterday afternoon. The man, Friday Asuquo, aged 27 shot his friend Kingsley Araino, with a pump action rifle because he delayed to pay him the N1000 which he borrowed from him.
The police spokesperson in Anambra confirmed this incident which took place in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Friday afternoon. The two friends were best friends and always do things together.
Asuquo, who is a native of Akwa Ibom State came to Anambra State through the help of Kingsley about 7 years ago. Both of them stayed together in Kingsley apartment until this sharp misunderstanding between them took place. Kingsley, not knowing Asuquo was very serious about the N1000 tried to dodge paying it.
Asuquo became angry with him and entered a church (City of restoration church, Amawbia) and retrieved a gun from the premises. He shot his friend at the back, hoping to kill him. The loud bang from the gunshot made SARS Officials track down the location. Kingsley was taken to the hospital while Asuquo was arrested by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
