The Cross River State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Eric Anderson and his team has been accused of assaulting some students of University of Calabar for not wearing face mask.

According to a story shared by Archibong Edet, a student of the University; the SUG President and his friends were allegedly beaten and chased bottles by the COVID-19 Task Force team led by the commissioner.

  • Eric Anderson

Archibong Edet said; “Cross River State COVID19 taskforce team led by Eric Anderson (Commissioner for Culture and Tourism) attacked the SUG President of Unical (Raymond Moses) and his friends because one of them didn't wear nose make. They flogged them with canes and chased them with bottles.”

The Cross River State Government had earlier made it mandatory for all residents in the state, to always wear face mask whenever they are in public places.

Apparently, the student erred, but flogging and using weapon on them is never right approach to correction by the commissioner and his task force team.
