1. Ekiti labour union threatens strike, issue 14-day ultimatum to Fayemi
The Ekiti State organised labour, has given a 14-day ultimatum to Governor Kayode Fayemi to pay all outstanding benefits to workers or face three days warning strike.
The union gave the ultimatum in a letter dated July 16, addressed to Fayemi and made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday.
The organised labour said the ultimatum commences from Monday, July 20 and lapses on August 3, within which the governor is expected to redeem his pledge or face mass action.
The letter was jointly signed by the Chairmen of Nigerian Labour Congress, Com. Kolapo Olatunde, his counterparts in the Trade Union Congress, Com. Sola Adigun and Joint Negotiating Council, Com. Kayode Fatomiluyi, as well as their Secretaries.

Katsina police early Saturday morning engaged bandits in a gun battle at Kwantawama village in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State during which one Amadu Yusuf, said to be one of the bandits was arrested.
The police team also rescued fourteen women said to have been abducted by the bandits.
It was learnt that the bandits who were about forty, armed with AK 47 rifles, had stormed the village about 1 am and abducted the fourteen women.
The bandits were also said to have rustled a large number of animals.
Sources said following the receipt of distressed calls from the village, the Divisional Police Officer for Dutsinma, CSP Muhammad Makama, led the ‘Operation Puff Adder’ team to the village where they engaged the bandits in a gun duel.
3. Davido Signs May D To DMW Records
David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has signed Afropop singer, Akinmayokun ‘May D’ Awodumila, to his record label DMW.
May D disclosed this in a post on his official Twitter page on Saturday morning.
The ‘soundtrack’ crooner expressed his excitement to meet his family.
Naija News recalls that May D had accused P-Square and Jude Okoye, owner of Northside Entertainment, of treating him poorly.
4. Twitter says hackers ‘manipulated’ employees to access accounts
Twitter says hackers “manipulated” some of its employees to access accounts in a high-profile attack on the social media company, including those of Democratic presidential challenger Joe Biden and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.
“We know that they accessed tools only available to our internal support teams to target 130 Twitter accounts,” said a statement posted Saturday on the company’s blog.
For 45 of those accounts, the hackers were able to reset passwords, login and send tweets, it added, while the personal data of up to eight unverified users was downloaded.

5. Factory worker beheads colleague after seeing his N13m account balance
A 29-year-old man has paid the supreme price for telling his friend about a heavy sum his South Africa based elder brother sent to him for the completion of his (elder brother’s) housing project back home in Nigeria.
Abuchi Wisdom Nwachukwu, was allegedly murdered by Moses, his friend and colleague, after informing the latter that his elder brother had sent him the sum of N13 million to complete his housing project.
Nwachukwu, a native of Isiala-Mbano, Imo State, was allegedly hacked to death by Moses on January 7, 2020, during a night shift at the table water company where they worked in Auchi, Edo State, after which he took possession of Nwachukwu’s phone and ATM card.
Moses also went on to behead Nwachukwu’s lifeless body so that it would be recognized, dumping the headless body in a bush close to the company.
After getting rid of Nwachukwu, Moses took the latter’s phone and ATM card to some internet fraudsters in Auchi who helped him to withdraw the sum of N2.2 million from Nwachukwu’s account.
Thereafter, Moses approached various POS points in the city to withdraw various sums of money.
6. Customs rakes in #19.5 million in Ogun in three months
The Ogun 1 command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Saturday, said it has generated N19,598,500.00 between April and June 2020.
The Area Controller of Customs, Ogun Area 1 command, Michael Agbara disclosed this to newsmen during a press briefing to highlight the activities of the command in the last three months.
Agbara said, during the period under review, the Command made 439 seizures, which included; 11,841 bags of 59kg foreign parboiled rice, 130 units of vehicles including 2018 Model Black Mercedes Benz AMG G63, (bulletproof), 39 units of a motorcycle (means of conveyance) and 98 kegs of Vegetable oil (25 literthe s each).
7. Many feared dead as explosion rocks Katsina
