Well known online media influencer and comedian,Adedamola Adewale Rukayat (a.k.a Adeherself) has been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offense Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a one-tally charge of ownership of deceitful archives.
The respondent was captured a month ago after insight got by the Commission on the exercises of some youngsters purportedly associated with web extortion in the Lekki pivot of Lagos State.
During cross examination, Adewale AKA "Adeherself" supposedly admitted to being a picker" in cybercrimes.
The check read: "That you, Adewale Adedamola Rukayat, approximately the fifteenth day of June 2020 in Lagos, inside the ward of this noteworthy court, with expectation to dupe, previously possessed archives named "WhatsAPP", which portrayals you knew or should have known, was bogus and subsequently dedicated an offense in opposition to Section 6 (8) (b) and 1 (3) (d) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offenses Act No. 14 of 2006″.
She argued not blameworthy to the charge.
Considering her request, indictment counsel, S.O. Daji, approached the court for a preliminary date and furthermore asked that she be remanded in the guardianship of the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCS.
The resistance counsel educated the court regarding a bail application for his customer and furthermore petitioned God for a short date to empower its hearing.
Equity Solebo suspended the issue to July 13, 2020, for the knowing about the bail application and furthermore requested the litigant to be remanded in the EFCC care.
