The incident happened on the 23rd of June, at their home in Akuke-Awkunanaw, Enugu State.
According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, ASP Ndukwe Ekea, Opoku's arrest was sequel to a petition received at the command's headquarters on the 10th of July from the Women Aid Collective (WACOL), Enugu.
The petition stated that the suspect allegedly committed the act on the 23rd of June after he had a misunderstanding with his baby mama.
Ekea stated that investigation reveals that the couple have been together for over three years and they have three children together, though they are not married.
They had a misunderstanding on that day and the suspect poured hot water, which was boiled to prepare pap all over the victim’s breasts.
The spokesperson added that the suspect has been charged to court and remanded in Police custody for further hearing.
