
At least six people have died and several others injured after a bomb exploded in Katsina State.
Eyewitnesses told Channels TV the incident happened on Saturday at about 9:00 am at Yardagi village in Zango local government area of the State.
The victims went to get grasses for their animals at the farm when they reportedly stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), The Punch reports.
The injured – at least five – are currently in hospital receiving medical attention.
When contacted by newsmen, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah said investigation is ongoing and did not divulge further.
However, we call on the relevant authorities to investigate any form of terrorism, as that might not be ruled out completely. Katsina State has been largely hit with several case of insecurities lately.
