The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended one Iyabo Julius, a 23 year old girl for allegedly conspiring with her boyfriend, one Adedayo Sunday, to rob and murder a commercial motorcyclist identified as Suleuman Azeez.
The incident was said to have taken place at the 12/12 area of Ore in the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
Police also arrested one Jeremiah Monday in connection to the crime.
The state police commissioner, Mr Bolaji Salami, while parading the suspects at the state police headquarters in Alagbaka Akure said that the deceased man used to be Iyabo Julius's Ex-Boyfriend. she urged her new lover Adebayo to kill him so she could easily forget about him.
The police boss said in his words:
“One Suleiman Azeez, 25, a commercial motorcyclist, left home for his daily bread with his Bajaj motorcycle but did not return home. His body was later found in a pool of blood around the 12/12 area Odigbo via Ore.
He further stated that the case was later moved to the state Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Akure, upon investigation, it was discovered that one Adedayo Sunday, 25, and Jeremiah Monday, 20, both of Odigbo via Ore, who are currently in police custody were captured where they had gone to sell the stolen motorcycle of the deceased.
“In the course of questioning, they confessed to have committed the crime and said that Iyabo, the deceased ex lover, 23 years of age, who is now Adebayo’s lover, asked them to rob her former boyfriend of his motorcycle and equally slay him so that she and her new boyfriend could get married.”
The police boss said that Iyabo was arrested based on the statement of the perpetrators which indicted her.
