A journalist cum publisher ,Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji has raised the alarm over a plan to defraud his well wishers on his birthday by fraudsters .
Kayode-Adedeji who runs an online media ,Penpushing, raised the alarm on Sunday through a statement he sent to various WhatsApp loops ,alerting the public on the need to avoid being defrauded by an acclaimed Facebook official .
According to him, the yet-to-be known fraudster called him around 10:50 am on Sunday with a Nigerian number and urged him to join a birthday party organised for him by Facebook .
Incidentally , Kayode-Adedeji was a year older on Sunday , the day he was called by the fraudster for the birthday party .
Sensing a danger, the old-man journalist alerted the public over the development. He issued a statement .
The statement read " a suspected fraudster just called me on this number 07025767514, that Facebook is celebrating my birthday.
"The animal in humanskin said my password is 446732, that I should follow a process to be on the "fake birthday party venue".
"Please to avoid becoming victims of the notorious fraudsters, please, I do not engage anybody to source for fund for my birthday, be cautious and don't attend to the fake news, so that the dubious gang does not get access into your bank accounts. God bless you all and I appreciate you all for your kindness on the birthday wishes."
When asked whether he planned to celebrate his birthday or not , Kayode-Adedeji said he was not planning any birthday party .
How the fraudster got the hint , he said "no, am not planning any party.
"The fraudsters might have heard/ read about my birthday on Facebook. The idiot said he is an official of Facebook."
