Photos: check out the colourful pictures of Obasanjo and Governor Dapo as they grace Owu festival.

The Yorubas is one of the most celebrated tribes in the world, their culture, languages and traditions are worth emulation.

Earlier today, the Owu town in Ogun state celebrated Owu day today and people from far and near came to celebrate with them.

While reacting to the event, the executive governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Dapo Abiodun has taken to the verified Instagram page to share some lovely pictures of the events and also to celebrate the political leaders that graced the occasion.

On his page, he said "Today, we marked the 2021 Ọdún Ọmọ Olówu Day in Abeokuta. The special annual occasion, which was graced by dignitaries, was a valued time to celebrate ancestry and the industry, courage, valour and candour of the good people of Owu.

I appreciated HRM Oba Dr Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, CON, FTA, Olowu and Paramount Ruler of the Ancient Owu Kingdom; Balogun of Owu kingdom and former President Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR; the entire Owu Council of Chiefs; elders, sons and daughters of the Owu Kingdom on this grand celebration."

As seen in the picture above, the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo was also at the event. The Owu Kingdom is the hometown of Obasanjo. Many Nigerians prefer to call him "Ebora owu" because of his love for his hometown.

According to history, the primary purpose of celebrating Owu day in Abeokuta is just to appreciate and give thanks to God for providing the needs of all Owu descendants.
