Chimamanda Adichie visits NIMC headquarters to register for the National Identification Number.

Renowned Nigerian writer, novelist and public speaker, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was in Abuja yesterday, August 4, 2021, to register for the National Identification Number (NIN).

Ngozi Adichi was at the corporate headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to register for the ongoing National Identification Number (NIN), as mandated by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

In the photos shared by the Commission via their official Facebook page, Chimamanda was flanked by some staff of the Commission, who were obviously happy to receive her in their office.

"Nigeria's Internationally acclaimed novelist and literary icon, Chimamanda Adichie receiving her NIN slip at the NIMC Corporate HQ, Abuja," the Commission wrote via their official Facebook page.

Recall that in December 2020, the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) mandated that every SIM card must be linked to a National Identification Number (NIN).

Meanwhile, the Federal Government recently shifted the deadline for National Identity Number (NIN)-Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) data verification, from July 26, 2021 to October 31, 2021.
