Check out why WhatsApp extends support blackberry and Nokia
I think it’s still fresh in our minds how we got the announcement earlier this year that WhatsApp was dropping it’s support for some outdated operating systems which included Blackberry, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian OS’s by the end of 2016, well there’s good news as the support these operating systems has been extended.
It is still unclear why the support for the devices was extended but the Facebook owned IM have updated their blog post to reflect the new date as June 30, 2017.
That is an additional 6 months for those using any of BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1, Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7, iPhone 3GS/iOS 6 to either update their OS to a supported one or search for another device if they’re intend to continue using WhatsApp.
